t2 Trainee Makes the Right Move

Trainee, Alex Churchill, has found success with nationwide estate agents Darlows through training and development company t2 business solutions.

Alex joined t2 business solutions’ education centre in November 2007 to begin an Information Technology Qualification (iTQ) and work towards obtaining a trainee placement.

t2 business solutions helped Alex secure a placement at Darlows Estate Agents. The programme allows employers to hire a trainee for three months and, if satisfied with their performance, they can then recruit them as a permanent employee.

As a trainee administrator at Darlows, Alex gained experience in standard administration work whilst focussing on his iTQ qualification. Within the first three months of his placement, he was taken on as a permanent employee, working four days a week.

Alex’s success as a trainee secured him a role with one of the largest letting agents in South Wales. His role includes everyday administration in the office including internal communications, spreadsheet analysis and manning incoming calls.

Alex said: “My time at t2 business solutions allowed me to work towards a qualification and gain experience using computers and software packages. t2 also provided me with some vital work placement and interview skills, which allowed me to hit the ground running. I am very happy with the result of my time at t2 business solutions and thrilled that they found me a placement, which has resulted in permanent employment.”

t2 business solutions, Newport, offers training to young adults aged 16 and 17. Centre staff work with a wide variety of employers to gain placements for centre candidates to assist them in gaining a permanent position.

t2 business solutions puts 16 and 17 year olds through a 4 week programme to develop IT skills, work on their CVs and learn interview techniques. Following this, t2 will aim to enrol them on a paid placement in a junior role with a local business for up to 3 months.
