Health & Social Care level 2

This qualification is aimed at individuals in a Health and Social Care environment.  The qualification is relevant to those supporting adults of any age, in any setting.

On completion of the framework the candidate will receive the following qualifications:

> City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care
> City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Health & Social Care
> Health & Social Care Foundation Modern Apprenticeship

     

Level 2 National Vocational Qualification in Health & Social Care

> Communicate with, & complete records for individuals
> Support the health & safety of yourself & individuals
> Develop your knowledge & practice
> Ensure your own actions support the care, protection & well-being of individuals

Depending on their job role, candidates may undertake:

> 4 core units & 2 optional units
> 2 core units & 2 optional units plus 2 other units from the core or optional units
> 3 core units & 3 optional units

Delivery: an assessor will visit the candidate at their workplace at least once a month for a minimum of one hour. In addition to this, they will be set approximately 4 hours worth of work to complete before the next months meeting.

City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Health & Social Care

The Technical Certificate at level 2 consists of 4 units.

> Developing own knowledge and practice in a health and social care setting.
> Supporting the care, protection and well-being of individuals in a health and social care setting.
> Communicating with, and completing records for individuals in a health and social care setting.
> Understanding health and safety practice in a health and social care setting.

The Technical Certificate will be delivered in the workplace.

 

Key Skills

Key Skills are a range of essential skills that are critical to succeed in the workplace today. There are two Key Skill areas (Communications and Application of Number) which participants complete through a combination of work-based assessments and assignments.

> Application of Number           (Level 1)
> Communications                       (Level 1)

Delivery: Key Skills will be completed during the assessor visits

Recommended Time on Framework

The recommended time to complete the Modern Apprenticeship framework is 18 to 24 months.
