Health & Social Care level 3

This qualification is aimed at individuals in a Health and Social Care environment.  The qualification is relevant to those supporting adults of any age, in any setting.

On completion of the framework the candidate will receive the following qualifications:


> City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Health & Social Care
>
City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care
> Health & Social Care Modern Apprenticeship

     

Level 3 National Vocational Qualification in Health & Social Care

Mandatory Units (4)

> Promote effective communication for & about individuals
> Promote, monitor & maintain, health , safety & security in the workplace
> Reflect & develop your practice
> Promote choice, well-being & the protection of all individuals

Optional Units

Candidates at level 3 must undertake the 4 core units (one of which is contextualised to the Adults Pathway) plus 4 optional units which depend on the candidates' area of specialisation.

Delivery: an assessor will visit the candidate at their workplace at least once a month for a minimum of one hour. In addition to this, they will be set approximately 4 hours worth of work to complete before the next months meeting.

City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Health & Social Care

The Technical Certificate at level 3 consists of 5 units.

> Reflecting on and developing own practice in a health and social care role.
> Promoting effective communication for and about individuals in a health and social care setting.
> Promote health and safety practice in a health and social care setting.
> Promote the care, well-being and protection of adults.
> Promoting choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals in a health and social care setting.

The Technical Certificate will be delivered in the workplace.
 

Key Skills

Key Skills are a range of essential skills that are critical to succeed in the workplace today. There are two Key Skill areas (Communications and Application of Number) which participants complete through a combination of work-based assessments and assignments.

> Application of Number           (Level 2)
> Communications                    (Level 2)

Delivery: Key Skills will be completed during the assessor visits

 

Recommended Time on Framework

The recommended time to complete the Modern Apprenticeship framework is 18 to 24 months.
