t2’s Learner of the Quarter Announced

Michael Schiazza has been awarded t2’s Achiever of the Quarter award for his recent completion of a Level 2 Team Leading Modern Apprenticeship.

Michael, who completed his qualification last June, is a Team Leader on the processing team at Companies House, Cardiff. His responsibilities include ensuring the daily tasks are completed accurately and effectively within the constraints and demands of the department and ultimately the organisation.

Michael said: “I took the Team Leading Modern Apprenticeship to gain more insight into my role; it was part of a bigger plan that I have for myself and my career. I kept motivated because the incentive for me was to give my internal & external customers a first rate service. I felt this qualification was a good avenue to fulfilling my goal. It simply had to be completed.”

“As it was important to ensure I was always on the right track, I built up a strong and solid working relationship with my Personal Development Management (PDM) and ensured that I kept to any deadlines that were set, whether they were big or small.”

“During the course I enjoyed the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) discussions. It always fascinates me to debate the pros and cons and I was able to do this during the ILM.

“For others undertaking Modern Apprenticeships, I would advise that they be sure they can stay focussed and determined throughout and keep clear lines of communication with your assessor. The faster you work, the more they will push you. As with anything it’s what you make it!”
