Training and Work Placements to decrease unemployment rates

t2 business solutions, one of the UK’s foremost providers of training and coaching, announces the launch of its Work Focused Training division, centered on retraining unemployed adults.

Earlier this year, the Office of National Statistics released data showing that there are 658,000 under 24’s that are not in full time education out of work.

In line with the Welsh Assembly Government, t2 business solutions will work alongside the Job Centre in South Wales to provide qualifications and work placements for 18-24 year olds who have been unemployed for 6 to 12 months.

The scheme, based in Newport, will allow individuals to choose from a variety of qualifications including IT, Retail, Customer Service, Business and Administration and Contact Centre in order to help them obtain employment in their chosen field.

Simon Berry, t2’s Centre Manager in Newport, said: “Work Focused Training is a great new programme which is centred on getting unemployed people retrained and back into work by building their skills base and making them more employable. We aim to get 100 people onto the programme by the end of July in order to decrease the number of unemployed people in South Wales.”

Participants will undertake a technical certificate for their chosen qualification in the Work Focused Training Centre. Following this, t2 will work with them to try and obtain a work placement, enabling them to gain a qualification whilst they work.
