Trainee proves success is an option

Trainee, Rebecca Davies, proves success is definitely an option after only eight weeks in employment.

Rebecca joined t2 skills’ education centre in April to begin an Information Technology Qualification (iTQ) and work towards obtaining a trainee placement.

After only 2 weeks, Rebecca secured a placement at Primetime Recruitment through the t2 skills programme. The programme allows employers to hire a trainee for three months, and if satisfied with their performance, they can then recruit them as a permanent employee.

As an administrator at Primetime Recruitment, Rebecca trained gained experience in standard administration work whilst focussing on her iTQ qualification. Within the first eight weeks of her placement, she was taken on as a permanent employee.

Her success as a trainee put her in a position where she was in charge of Administration for a specific branch and an opportunity to earn bonuses if her branch performed well.

Rebecca said: “I am very happy with the result of my time at t2 skills. Not only are they helping me work towards gaining a qualification, but they found me a placement, which has resulted in permanent employment.

I thoroughly enjoy working for Primetime Recruitment and am grateful to t2 skills for helping me get this far. I would recommend anyone aged 16 or 17 who is interested in gaining work experience, a qualification and possibly a permanent role to join t2 skills.”

t2 skills, Newport, offers training to young adults aged 16 and 17. Centre staff work with a wide variety of employers to gain placements for centre candidates to assist them in gaining a permanent position.

t2 skills puts 16 and 17 year olds through a 4 week programme to develop IT skills, work on their CVs and learn interview techniques. Following this t2 will aim to enrol them on a paid placement in a junior role with a local business for up to 3 months.
