t2 Raise over £250 for Comic Relief

t2 business solutions has raised £250 for Comic Relief, through a variety of fundraising methods on Friday 13th March.

Comic Relief launched in 1985 and has since inspired Britain to raise money for a world free of poverty whilst having fun, aiming to make a positive change through the power of entertainment.

For the 2009 Comic Relief, t2 spent the week fundraising to raise as much as possible for the charity that funds projects through the UK, Africa, and some of the world’s poorest countries.

Friday 13th March kicked off with a bake sale, where a number of t2 staff baked cakes, cheesecakes, welsh cakes, brownies and much more to sell to their colleagues.

Throughout the week, Red Noses were on sale, at the increased price of £1.20 to raise additional money for the charity. ‘Red Nose Hours’ were put in place throughout the day, were employees were required to wear their Red Noses without removing them. Those caught without their nose on the day were fined £2.

Sweepstakes took place with a £20 prize up for grabs, and three brave employees were put in the stocks to have wet sponges thrown at them at the end of the day.

Finally, a casual day took place on Friday, to support the fundraising for Comic Relief, and the rules were that everyone had to wear something red that was visible at all times! Anyone not wearing red was fined £5 to go towards the total raised. All staff took part, and overall the day was a great opportunity for employees to come together to have fun while raising money for a very worthy cause.
