t2 Raise Over £390 For Children In Need

t2 business solutions has raised £391 for BBC Children in Need, through a variety of fundraising methods last week.

Children in Need launched on Christmas day in 1927 on the radio, with the first televised performance taking place in 1955. It became a BBC telethon show in 1980, and the famous Pudsey was introduced five years later.

For the 30th annual BBC Children in Need, t2 spent the week fundraising to raise as much as possible for the charity that helps disadvantaged and under-privileged children in Great Britain.

Friday 20th November kicked off with hot bacon rolls being sold in the staff kitchen. A George Foreman grill, bumper packs of rolls and bacon, and an early start fed the entire office and started to fill the fundraising pot.

Three Pudsey Scratch Card Sweepstakes took place in t2’s head office and Newport centre, where there a bottle of wine and two tins of chocolate were up for grabs. This was followed by a raffle with lots of donated prizes varying from pantomime tickets and bottles of spirits, to a key ring and chart DVD.

Prizes for the raffle were donated from various members of t2 staff, and with over 60 tickets sold, the raffle was a huge success. There was also a sweepstake to determine how much money was in one of the departments ‘Swear Box’, which was also generously donated.

Finally, a dress down day took place on Friday, to support the fundraising for BBC Children in Need. All staff took part, and overall the day was a great opportunity for employees to come together to have fun while raising money for a very worthy cause. Trainees at t2’s training centre in Newport also donated to the cause, so a big thank you to them.

Rob Marr, Managing Director of t2 business solutions said: “t2 always tries to do something for BBC Children in Need, last year raising a fantastic £300. This year we set ourselves a bigger target to raise over £300. We exceeded this by almost £100, which is fantastic.

“I would like to thank all t2’s employees for their generosity during this time, and congratulate everyone on raising so much money for such a worthy charity.”
