Speaking about the new sustainable development policy, Rob Marr, Managing Director of t2 said: “We at t2 are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and are constantly looking at how we operate and trying to improve our impact on the environment.
It is estimated that the cd scheme will save between 70,000 and 100,000 sheets of paper over the coming year.
t2’s Commercial Training Manager Dave Clissitt explains the reason behind scheme: “Prior to this scheme the individuals on the courses were being given lots of important course material, but it was all on paper. The ILM courses with t2 are very well known and very popular. As the number of people on the courses increased we found that we were going through stacks of paper for each course. The cds contain the learner support handouts and any necessary material for each workshop”
As well as saving paper the new scheme greatly reduces the energy used in printing the material. It is expected that over 300 learners will be receiving the course material via disk over the coming months. By putting the information on cd, the company will be saving
- ½ a ton of paper,
- At least 15000 litres of water,
- 2000 - 3000 KWh of electricity (enough for an average 3 bedroom house for one year),
- And sixteen trees a year
