Many people think that Health & Safety applies to heavy industry. However, the laws of Health & Safety apply to all workplaces, wherever they may be. The office environment, being a workplace has its own particular requirements in respect of Health & Safety and still requires a full risk assessment as required by law. Also, important issues such as Display Screen Equipment assessments (DSE) are needed. Similarly, stress is often a huge contributor to both absence and accidents. A risk assessment is also legally required for this. The list is seemingly endless. This course then, seeks to provide an insight into the essentials that are required to effectively manage Health & Safety within the office environment.
