Qualifications

Our Centre offers many accredited and non accredited qualifications from Building your CV through to an NVQ in IT.  Please see below for more detailed information on each course.

iTQ is based on a national framework of skills that covers the core range of everyday IT user skills (14 techniques such as word processing, spreadsheets, database management, security etc.)

What makes iTQ unique is that it recognises what's best in current qualifications. iTQ can be tailored to each organisation's requirements and does not involve learning skills that won't be needed or used. iTQ can include any workplace specific systems (e.g. intranet) or even a Health & Safety module as part of the overall qualification.

Keyskills

Information Technology– Complete a powerpoint presentation on a subject of your choice using research from the Internet. Complete an up to date copy of your CV using Microsoft Word showing all qualifications gained and working towards.

Communication – Complete a Word Report on a subject of your choice using Internet Research. Complete a Health and Safety Poster using the Health and Safety evidence provided. Take part in a group debate on a subject chosen by the group e.g. animal testing or smoking in public places.

Application of Number – Complete a project based on booking a holiday abroad using a budget of £1500. Use various calculations to calculate price of holiday, insurance and flight supplement. Complete a pictogram to display your findings.

CLAiT

New CLAiT – Consists of three modules which are Wordprocessing, Spreadsheets and Databases. Progress through CLAiT workbooks through one to ones with tutor to update your knowledge on each software package. Then sit a final test online with an immediate decision on pass or fail. Test can only be sat up-to a maximum of four times. This qualifications is seen as an IT level 1 qualification.

IT NVQ

NVQ for IT Users Level 1 and 2 (ITQ) - ITQ is the National Vocational Qualification for IT Users which demonstrates staff competence in the use of IT in the workplace. It is offered at levels 1and 2. ITQ has been designed to provide you with an up to date IT user qualification for your workforce, tailored to the needs of your business and your staff. It provides analysis of workforce skills such as making the best use of technology in business systems and in communication with colleagues and customers.

CV Writing Skills – A project which will help you produce a CV based on your qualifications, work history, hobbies and references.

Interview Techniques – A project where various role plays will be carried out to enable candidates to experience all different kinds of interviews.

Cover Letter – A project where you will successfully be able to write a Cover Letter to a employer. You will be able to adapt your letter in accordance to what job you are applying for.
